Best dog bed ever! I’ve been on the lookout (literally for several years) for a perfect dog bed that’s elevated off the floor so the Roomba can get underneath. All the dog bed couches I found were either for little dogs, or were overly ornate, with buttons or ornamental tacks that I knew my dogs would chew on. This dog bed easily fits Jed’s hundred-pound moose-like build or Fred’s XL Great Dane length on Basset Hound legs. The dogs and cats all love this bed, and so do I. I love its sleek design and serviceable fabric. I’m planning to get another one for my office.

Best pet food storage container! When the third or fourth Vittles Vault we keep on the porch for the outside-cats’ food developed a hole on the bottom corner (to the delight of ants everywhere), I searched for a sturdy, airtight container to take its place. This thing is wonderful, and also attractive. I ended up using it for the dog’s food because it looks so nice in the house, and so now the outside cats have the dogs’ old Vittles Vault. As soon as it develops a hole (and I know it will), I will buy another one of these for the cats. (I promise!) It has a metal exterior, a locking handle, and a thick plastic inner liner.
I had one of these white noise machines as a child, and it lasted until it finally got so ratty looking that I tossed it; even though it still worked (we’re talking 50 years later). But not before I found the same item manufactured by the same company and bought a new one. Some of the reviews on Amazon claim that it doesn’t last as long as the old ones, but hey. If this one only lasts a year, it will still be worth it.
Best rug ever! I’ve been on a mission for several years now to find an easy-to-clean rug that will stand up to all the misuse the rugs around here get. I have the 5’x7’ size, and just ordered a 2.5’x8’ runner for the kitchen and a 3’x5’ to go under the dogs’ water bowls. The printed fabric is soft, padded, and thick enough to stand up to the Roomba, which has caused my expensive Ruggable rugs to curl up on the edges. It has a non-slip backing that keeps the rug from skidding out from underfoot the way the recycled plastic indoor-outdoor rugs do. Even though I don’t have an industrial-size front-load washer the manufacturer recommends for the large rugs (I have a small, cheap, top-load with an agitator) the rug has sailed successfully through several machine washings and dryings anyway. If we have to move to New Zealand and leave everything behind, I’ll put this rug in my suitcase and buy new clothes when I get there. As you can see from the picture on the left, Truman fully approves of this rug as well!
