My sweet dog Charm is my third Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I got her in 2020 after my first Cavalier, Bliss, who was featured as a character in my book-turned-Hallmark movie Unleashing Mr. Darcy, passed away. Charm is a true velcro dog and goes everywhere with me and has the gentlest and most affectionate disposition of any dog I’ve ever known. She’s a registered therapy dog and reading education assistance dog, and we do a lot of volunteer work in the community. I was inspired to go through therapy dog training with her during the pandemic when patients in hospitals and nursing homes couldn’t have visitors. Of course she also pops up in my writing from time to time!
